Well .. I started to rebuild my canopy windows finally .. They are original looking , but on closer look , I see that one of the glass panes and the center support has been changed .. I started by removing the center support .. It is "pinched" .. so just using a screw driver to seperate the pinch .. Next was to actually remove the glass ... The frame is "tacked" together .. so with a die grinder .. I stripped the weld off and removed the glass .. and with one totally stripped .. all the parts and pieces .. .

got a bit of work done on them today ... as finally , searching for a replacement felt chanel , has been successfull . so from my research , the original felt and woven backing is no longer avaliable , Winnabego's "source" for these windows is now out of business , and have been for many of years . I found a manufacture , whom will custom build NEW complete "factory type" replacement windows , but there $600.00 for the set !!! (these will be offered with the NEW Trekker conversions) so .. The replacement chanel I found is not actually felt , it's rubber , so I think it will "wick" the water away better .. I'm also trying to source new "rubbers" , instead of the factory felts , I firmly believe this is the issue with the leaking issues . I also started "polishing" the outer frames .. cant really see it , but there comming .

so i'm currently stuck !!
i'm trying to replace the centersection .. as only 1 of mine are correct/factory the manufacture of the windows is long out of business .. so finding an original is near impossable .. as this is a bad design , and leaks like a "siv" been searching for quite a while , searching a local canopy window manufacture here in the Okanagan , but so far ALL has turned up negative ..
talked to another guy the other day just about some "random" stuff .. and as we we're talking , I noticed his chevy rear cab sliding window .. then had a look at my factory rear slider ..

so after weeks of searching .. I finally found my slider of choice .. 89-95 extra cab , had the pieces that I think will cure the leaky window problem got it today and started tearing it down to get the pieces I wanted The side window support stays (original on the left) and rubber wipers (original on the left) you can see here the canels are curved , so I had to straighten them (original in the middle) once I got everything "prepped" It was time to "mock" everything together The new window rubber set into place (replacing the felt) The center supports need to be fit and trimmed . I used my band saw to do this , and with that done time to fit the glass and NEW center support Very happy with the fit .. The seal , actually seals and now the outer trim seal and front seal i'm ready to pull it apart , tint the windows and put it back together for the final time .

so continuing on with the rebuild , installing the inside felt wiper .. new felt installed and bracket set in place ....... notice the gap !! To correct this , the support needs to be trimmed I used my band saw also , because of the gap , my support was bent from the lock clip , so it needed to be straightened back out (you can see the gap between the straight edge) and now you can see NO gap .. and the window slides and locks awesome and with everything done now .. time to put it together crimped just need to get the frame split welded , glew in the weatherstrip , and do a final polish .... .
