Did you make the half doors out of fiberglass? Curious how you did the latches/door handles? you shoud do a little write up when (if) you get the chance...

yep fiberglass .. and I sell em . www.toyotafiberglass.com/halfdoors.htmthey use all the stock hardware , and latches .. and open and close like the stock full door . I also made some quick release hinges so I can pop off my stock doors , and install the 1/2 doors in about 10 mins . i have been running my 1/2 doors in the summer for about 4 seasons now , I love em .

sunny today .. and projected for about 2 weeks .. so on go the 1/2 doors (about 10 min install) as it sits today .. June 13 , 2008 I have some rear shackles I got on the go to level things up .. "greasable " which I failed on on the Trekker , first try .. (my trekker build) I'll have some pics .. to follow . . .

so today I built some rear shackles .. nothing to drastic , just something to level out the truck . also wanted them to be greasable .. so here what I got .... started drilling the bolts .. vertical and horizontal then taped and added the grease nipple made some sleeves , and main brackets .. and got ready to install .. started by removing the old shackles and bushings installed the shackles and measured for the center support .. got them all welded up , and zinc'd installed brought it up about an 1 1/2" .. just where I wanted it ..

I dont .. but pretty easy ..
I just cut the old "pins" out , and machined/lathed new ones .. added some new bushings , and viola .

Corey: How much weight do you think your truck lost by going with the fiberglass? sorry robb I missed your question .. not much .. I dont build the fiberglass for weight loss .. there built for strength .. that being said , the 1/2 doors take a bunch of weight off , well just because its a 1/2 door and no glass and such , and the hood and front fenders are a little lighter as well so i'm sure its a bit lighter , just not sure how much .. hmmm maybe I should weigh it . .

hahaha ... everyone asks me that !!!
I dont think I'm going to ... people wont see the fiberglass then , and it would just look like a "nice truck" then .
