The Trekker I bought has a 4 speed. How hard would it be to install a 5 speed? Are the deminsions the same? Thanks guys

there not .. 5 speed main shaft is longer .. you'll need the drive shaft as well . other then that , it will bolt up .

with the 5 speed being longer and needing a shorter rear driveshaft, doesn't that mean that the Transfer case is also moved back and then you would need a longer front driveshaft? Maybe the front slip joint is long enough to make up the difference..

NOPE .. front shafts are the same .. dont ask me why , but there is only 1 front shaft (37140-35013 ) for the front for these years , I believe it is the slip joint .. eg. my Trekker came stock with a 5 speed . EDIT well it only shows 1 part # for the rear shaft .. 4 or 5 speed ... (37110-35162) so I guess mayybe you done need to replace the rear ... I have always read you do . .

just doing the swap in our shop right now ... trannies 4 and 5 speed are (L45 and L50) are exactly the same length no drive shaft replacements or mods required
