I got a friend looking at a 91 toyota 4wd and he says the front diff is out and none of the 4wd works. The guys selling the truck said there was a bad bearing and it was making the front end vibrate. what should i tell him? any advice.

It is possible it was a bad bearing. Seems like a bad bearing making the front end vibrate would be down towards a wheel. Nice thing about an IFS front end is that I see complete IFS units on craigslist very cheap quite often ($150'ish). Could pick one up and put it in. Sounds like a definite project truck. Guess it would come down to what the asking price is, has to be pretty cheap... here is a link to some online Factory Service Manuals: ncttora.com/fsm/index.htmlmight help out if he gets the truck

Thats what i told him. it had to be cheap. They were asking $4200 and he tlked them down to $3000. I still think that is way to much. we are going to look at it tomorrow.
