Well I'm up here in Alaska and have been looking at the board since it got started. I love looking at everyone elses pictures of their trekker so I thought I'd start to share mine. Right now it is in sad shape...
I bought it from a friend two years ago with the plan on swapping a 22re into it. It was my primary daily driver and i drove it around everywhere. It came on 33 tsls and had some front and rear bumpers rocker gaurds custom tube crossmember, 529 gears, three quarter eliptical in the rear suspension, 5 spd, and a 20R head on a 22R block, I was told that is suposed to give the motor a little more power. I got it all for $3000. I was super stoked on it and rallied it everywhere.
Last december I went to HAwaii for two weeks and while we were gone it dumped snow. For the month of december we recieved a bit over 200 inches of snow. So when I got back this is what the yard looked like. THis was taken on a break in the weather betwreen storms.
Below is a little perspective of the snow we got in 1 weekend once I got back from hawaii
Here's a picture of the trekker when I got back. days before it got crushed.
So we had to clean our driveway which was a pain cause with 5 different roommates each w/ 2 cars and snowmachines things get pretty crowded. I wasn't really thinking and parked my trekker, after getting it dug out and the driveway cleaned, next to the right of the house where you can see part of a redish brown trailer sticking out of the snow in the first picture. I wasn't driveing the trekker at the time and it was just in the way if it was parked in front of the house so i thought it'd be a good idea to get it out of the way and park it in the spot from the trailer cause we got rid of that. (Notice all of the snow on the roof) So after about a day or two we start getting more snow. And one night the snow got too heavy for to stick to the roof and it all slid.
We went out the next morning and it was CRUSHED. Oh my rooomate had a 96 4runner w/ a 3.4 parked behing my trekker and it got totalled too.
here's a pic of after we got it pulled out
One we dug it out and it was moving on its own power I could do wheelies in it b/c there was so much weight on the rear. The rear leafs were maxed out resting on the bumpstops.
The pile of snow and ice was over 7 feet high! it was quite comical looking other than the fact that my trekker was done.
Here's a shot after we got all of the snow off
So started fixing it this past summer slowly, I will have to get some updated pictures and now I am in the process of doing the efi swap too, My friend has an 81 pickup that he flipped and he only had a couple hundered miles on the motor and he did the same swap to it before crashing it. He instsalled a check engine light in the cluster and made it legal so it will pass all emisions here in AK. THe gas tank has all of the bracket fabbed so basically it's just to unbolt from his and put it on my trekker. So I currently have the two trucks side by side swapping things over.
I think Corey said he had some rear windows he could sell me, if anyone knows of where I can get a rear hatch please let me know b/c I'd like to be able to have a stock hatch instead of making one. I'll try to get some pictures of before the accident and some current pictures of it.
Hopefully i'll be driving her again next summer!
enjoy!
