Sorry all! Yes i am still alive. Jobs just kept me way to busy. Now i have way more free time.
So i am way behind on this build.
Got tired of the way to bumpy 'add-a-leaf' ride sooooo with a call in to Trail Gear some parts showed up
- 4" spring lift
- cross over steering
- Billstein 5150 shocks (external resevoirs)
- long slip front drive shaft spline
- winch adapter plate
*over all service was good
however .... extremely unhappy with the long slip drive shaft. Tons of play in the splines, both ends not plugged so dirt will be getting in, and u joint was wrong size
sorry for bad pics, from a Blackberry
robbed some axles .... rear is a new style (89-95) with 4.56 gears and Detroit EZ locker, front is what i believe a land cruiser with factor Toyota E locker with 4.56's
Ill try and let the pictures do the talking .... build start!
front diff cover fit not to bad, but still had to fill in a gap
had to knotch out the innner fender a bit
steering box/cross over steering install
i tacked the top blate to the collars to prevent any 'pulling or warping'
rear leafs install
they sent me the wrong rear spring hangers, but i made do
moved shackle mounts 2.5" back from original
just messing around .... truck with 38's!
purchased these rims used and found this old polish, worked great
finished!!
should have went the 5" rear springs due to the extra weight of the custom box, but ordered some extended shackles
Had some SR5 seats that were a little pounded out so i used some pieces of a yoga mat and carpet underlay. Way comfier!
Started building a front bumper with the winch plate from Trail Gear
