Paul the one i have in the truck now is the proper one for the truck. As far as i can tell there are three different bezels for the 1980 the one now in the truck being the top of the line. Next would be the woodgrain unit with the gray script. Then the unit without the woodgrain. I do also have the lesser model unit, same vertical fan control and wood grain, plain gray script being the only difference. I also have two of the newer style, twist knob fan control, wood grain units. I am not sure which one you want. I do however want your radio so lets dance. let me know what you want for it. Vince
Computer is mounted,( took some time to find a workable location ) harness is routed,( fit well but had an issue with a wire pulling out of the MAP connector ) fuel pump is bolted on and plumbed. I ran my fuel return line to a length of 5/16" hydrolic tube that i welded into a filler hose extension i added for the body lift. It was a bear to get back together cause it goes right to the bottom of the fuel tank after a 90* bend. Have to run power to my coil and a lead to the tach. and the electrical is done. I do need a speed sensor but i can run without one for now. Got a buddy changing the connections on my rad and then i am ready to fire.
Flat on the passenger side firewall, up as high as i could go. Was kickable so i made a pocket mount for it, you can push on it all you want with your footsies and it will be just fine. My stereo is in the glove box so that was out as a location. Amps under both sides of the seat so no go there, only other place was the roof. Will add some pics tonight.
Well i went to fire it up and found my distributor was shot. Ordered a billet on on line, installed it and found i have a few injectors hanging open, major flooding. I don't know how long they have been sitting and there is no real way to clean the rails so i found some NOS rails and injectors online and they are coming. So no run yet! She has been parked to long and is fighting me every step of the way!
