Pressing on, swapped some wheels and brake parts for a parts truck, another BJ60 with a 3B and 4 spd.

It is very rusty but has some odd factory stuff. Like this gate rack, i am told it is to protect the rear glass from shifting cargo, but why would it be larger on one side? Then it has 60/40 buckets. This is what i like though, full rubber flooring. It has a ton of the small stuff i need plus sheet metal parts and spares for the engine.

Very decieving! the roof and the parts around the rear windows are crap. The roof has been changed, cut off halfway down the pillars. Roof and sides are full of rust and bond, i may not be able to use the parts from the areas i needed. Don't get me wrong, the truck was still WELL worth the cost, what with the diesel and all the other stuff.

Carving pieces up to get to what i need. In prior posts you can see i cut the window frame off the door because i want it to look like a panel, no rollup type window. So i am using parts off the donor to copy the other cargo window.

The pieces i needed were pretty buggered up and warped so i had to cut out the crap welded bits. I will have to keep working the pieces till i have something i can weld up. So i have them taped together for now, it is a lot of work but leaving the window the other way would have looked like crap. Oh and HELL NO! those aren't my welds.

Wanted to try and get the engine in the donor flashed up before i stripped it out. So i threw in a pair of batteries, cranked it over for about half a minute and it came to life. Last ran in 03 so the fuel is crap so i added $10.00 new diesel and some conditioner, screwed on a new filter, bled the clutch slave and went for a drive. The engine runs sweet, i was going to sell it but now i don't know. There is only 230,000 kms so really it is just getting started. to make vid work , move your mouse over the vid , and hit enter on the KEYBOARD
