Friend of mine has a '82 Trekker for sale. He's owned for about 10 years and has done a lot to it. I'm no stranger to Toyota trucks, although most of my experience is with Land Cruisers. He's asking 3500 obo. What say everyone here? Here is the info he gave me: 5.29 gears, rear detroit locker, weber carb, header, revolver shackles in rear, 9000 rancho shocks, motor and tranny are out of a 86. The rear axle is out of an 90 it is 3 in wider and bigger brakes. Steering box leaks, motor is tired had a rod knock i have changed rod bearings several times to keep it going so it should be rebuilt. AC was working when it got parked. The plastic covering on the steering column is missing and no door panels but the dash is intact.

kind of a tough call to say how much it is worth...needing engine work etc I would be inclined to say $1500'ish. Missing the back seat, rear hatch lock.. when he install the '86 transmission did he move the crossmember back properly or just ad a plate extension where the Transfercase bolts to the crossmember?
internal cage in cab is a plus ;D
I paid $2k for mine in running condition but have since dumped a ton into it.
For the steering box issue I would dump the stock push pull steering with that dropped drag link and convert to High Steer with use and IFS box. I used a quick ratio 94 box and it steer awesome compared to the stock trash. 1st Gen trucks like to collect water in the floor, pull the carpeting to check them out.
With 5.29's it must come with 35's? are they in good shape?
There are not a ton of Trekkers left around guess it all comes down to how much you want the truck and whether or not you are happy with the purchase..but IMO I could not pay $3500 for a truck that is in that shape...Good luck

Right now there are NO wheels/tires with it. He had 38's, but recently sold them and the wheels.

I feel like I got a really good deal on mine and paid in the price range that Paul suggested. My truck had a brand new set of 33's on it and I drove it home that night.
