It dosn't look like my "supercharged" engine is going to happen (not sure yet) and I havent heard back .
i've been contemplating a diesle swap .. or maybe the common V8 swap .. I'm wanting something practical (fuel economy) but also something easy (supercharged 22r ) to work on for the future ...
any Ideas ?

sorry guys but for ease, reasonable gas milage (like 16 to 18 mpg) the tbi 350/350 combo is the way to go. It's just as much work as a 4.3 but the power difference is phnob. with very little in mpg difference. learn to drive with a light pedal, blow the doors off the kid in his 5.0. i play in the mud and climb hills and stuff. actually ran a 4000 stall for a summer. found it easier to finess the power when climbing, but pay attention to your tranny temp. i'll see about some pics soon, hard to find an empty heated garage around here this time of year. '83 trekker v8 conversion '85 pick-up v8 conversion '89 forerunner last of the removable top too many put in the grave to count!! will resurect as many as possible til i die
well i'm going for the 3.4L 5V-zfe .. and installing that . (already ordered) I really think I can squeeze more milage out of it , as i'm way lighter ...
all though I like the chev v8 .. I'm gonna stay with toyota .
190hp stock .. to push my Trekker around , should be good , + 40 more hp , if I supercharge it ..
+ it's never been done ! ;D

what year trucks would you get the v8 out of? i would like to stick with the TBI if possible for the simplicity of it. also... which exhaust manifolds were used? how much body lift? thanks for the information!! michael
