Can anybody recommend a good "how to" thread on replacing the rear main seal on the 22r?. This weekend I'm going to attempt to tackle an on-going oil leak that has been bugging me since day 1.

It's all good, I figured most folks were out enjoying the holiday weekend I'm well on the way to having it licked. I decided to just follow the Chilton guide....first time I've ever dropped a transmission out. I was intimidated at first, but it wasn't too bad at all. Since I had it out, I decided to go ahead and order a new clutch, throwout bearing, and slave cylinder too while I was at it. So now just waiting for the parts to arrive and button everything back up. Hopefully it seals up nice and I can be done with the nuisance.

I'm not sure I'm a good source for making a "how to." I'm pretty far from having any real wisdom to share on this one. Although I did learn that it's not absolutely necessary to have a tranny jack for this, but it WOULD be nice:) In hind sight, I should have taken some pictures though.....wasn't thinking about it when I jumped in. Then I'd just have to live with the embarrassment of the world seeing how awful I let my oil leak get evidenced by the 1/2 inch of grime caked on everything Next time!
