Joel owns a 91 Runner , stock 3VZ . out 4bying , did the "hydrolic" after market engine option .. brought it to us for some inspection and advise . With out question , I suggested the 5Vzfe , and promptly showed off the Trekker and gave him a quote on the job . SOLD ! so now starts the work . Install parts include 5Vzfe , 2nd gen TRD supercharger , URD pullies , 7th injector and some guages , including wideband , thorley headers , with our own "flavor" crossover , our own stage 2 clutch (300HP rated , including NEW flywheel) +our HD rad +++ also complete hi-clearance body mods and SAS .. but that will be later . Lots of parts ariving .

Tearing down the engine for some maint. parts , general cleaning and crossover build cleaning and sandblasting ..... some pieces I'm painting some of the pieces I'm going to be using "shark hide" and now with the headers in position , I can start on the crossover

That looks like its going to be a beast! Joel's going to be one happy kid.
Does that motor fit the 1st gen four and five speeds? I forgot what tranny you have in your trekker.

Is that one of those braided stainless steel flex connectors? How close does that end up to the firewall? Looks good !

yes .. and it's real close to the fire wall . I still have the original crossover shield that i'm going to use , after I get it final welded and ceramic coated

ok .. so now with a little modifications to the pipe ( this is why we spot weld first) i'm VERY confidant it will fit . and with the heat shield I want to do an actual test fit .. just to be sure , and also build the header/ O2 pipe , before I send it off for ceramic coating .. wont fit in my ovan !

test fit time !! header -- kinda fit -- I had to do the ol' in and out 3 times before I got it right . biggest problem was the driver header angle and lower collector flange hitting the frame , so I had to get that corrected , also had to trim the heat shields on the body , so we dont get any nasty rattling . Good to build the front header pipe now with the wideband , cat and rear O2 and final welding .
