74 and/or 78 wolverine craigslist find?

hey hey. this is my first post here.
I might have found something interesting. Maybe. Somebody tell me what I have.

Dude on craigslist claims to have a 1974 Toyota Hilux that was converted into a Wolverine 4x4 in 1978 in Van Nuys, CA. 

It was given an engine and transmission swap in 1982, apparently.
It has a buick 231 v6, a dana 20 transfer case, dana 27 front axle, and a turbo 350 automatic transmission. Dude says the trans is shot so I have to bring a trailer. He wants $3000 for it.

Couldn't find much online in terms of info/background on the wolverine, so if somebody could inform me or point me in the right direction, that would be much appreciated.

Also is this guy for real? Is it a legit wolverine?

And if so, is $3000 a deal?
