What a cool little truck! I admit, I was unaware of their existance until I bought one. I bought two 4X4 pickups, sight unseen, for $250. I just wanted a couple of diffs for my daughter's pickup. But I think I have almost enough parts to build one. It has been hit on the front passenger corner. The frame is bent, but the Winebego and cab are in very good shape for an '81. The carpets are faded but the interior is otherwise good. It is missing the engine and trans, but I have a '79 donor rig for the frame and sheet metal. Someone told me they came with 5 speeds and a 22Rs. I was poking around to find info and pictures and came across this site. I look forward to hearing from you guys.

I bought a 81 SR5 Trekker in Carmicheal, CA in 1988 with 20,000 for $5000. I took it thru the Rubicon Trail no problems, but body damage. I then lifted it 4 inches & put nerf bars & Smitty Built bumpers on it along with new rims and 32's. I love this truck and still have it today. I'm now in the process of restoring it.

If any one else can beat 20 years, speak up ;D
