Yeah I have a guy right now that has offered up an entire turbo motor and tranny in trade for just my motor... could be cool although the turbo motor needs a rebuild... going to call and talk to him some more... Would really like a 3rz or 5vze... hehe I have factory steering right now, awhile back all-pro used to make cross over steering, not a higher steer, it left the tie-rod in front of the axle and raised the drag-link above the leaf spring (like high steer) but all-pro quit making the knuckle about 3-4 years ago... was much better design in my opinion but high steer mania took over... i can relate to the power to gas mileage dilemma. I was halfway considering swapping something for my 22R, but now I think I will rebuild it when the time comes... I might still have the original steering components from my '81. I can take a look tomorrow and send you some pictures of it if you are interested in swapping for your high steer arms. I have also got a dropped drag link I only used for a month I could throw in too.

Well have been looking for an engine swap for my trekker... Think I have found the one I want...
22ret r151 and 23 spline case with 175,000 miles... wont do alot better mileage than my 4.3 but will make it a yota again! And on down the road I will swap in a t3/t4.... Going to talk to the kid some more...

Got the interior stripped out of my truck finally it looks 100 times better in there now... I will need to add some reinforcement to the topper now, the ceiling bounces as I go down the road... After looking into okiyota's trekker I noticed some body filled the top on the inside with body filler and two aluminum bars running the length of the topper... needless to say his doesn't move a bit.... My topper is going to need alot of work once the time comes to restore it... going to consult with slacker quite a bit as I have never attempted to fix fiberglass'ed stuff and mine has lots of surface crackes and holes in it...

Fiber glass is like making a PP&J sandwich, with the bread ont the inside...just do some small stuff first or just put a roll cage inside and attach roof to it...looks good urs in better shape than mine..

I'm telling you dude, i think that is factory in mine, I dont know about the aluminum runners being factory, but the brown crap i think is. I sent you an email just now with a picture that tells why i think mine came that way?? Maybe not though. Anyone else with a non SR5 Trekker want to get pics of their inner roof?
