I installed the Marlin Axle Rebuild kits and no more leaks. Wobble is still there, but I know I need new tires and the suspension is tired. Those things are next on my list.

A couple Toyota salvage yard scores- Trekker windows to replace the windows I had. The plastic latches were broken off of the windows I replaced. Installed. And these almost mint (except for the tear by the driver's side lever) 1st generation reclining seats. The junkers they replaced...

No, I already ordered my kit when I saw an ad for their new seals, or I would have. Maybe next time. I've done this job before, but this was very very messy.

they actually had a Trekker at the wreckers ?...NICE score .. Those windows were leftover from a Trekker that had been cut up and made into a rock crawler buggy. I think I saw the backseat somewhere too, but I didn't need one of those.

I finally found the right lift supports for the rear hatch and got them installed. I had to order the ball studs separately online. I couldn't find them at any local hardware or auto parts stores. Here's a picture of all the parts for one side. This pic actually shows the first strut I tried that had too high of a pressure rating- 50 lbs. I exchanged these for struts with 30 lbs. pressure and they work fine. If you buy the StrongArm lift supports (struts)- Part #4644 will work. They measure 19.7" extended 11.8" compressed 30lbs pres. I bought the 10mm ball studs and nuts here- www.maxumhardware.comYou can also buy struts here, but you have to order at least 4. The washers I bought at the local hardware store.

After weeks of waiting for parts, I got my Trekker back from the shop. 2" lift and 4.88 gears. I slapped on some new tires the next day. I love it! It drives 100 times better and looks cool too. I will post pics soon!

Got rid of the tiny GT steering wheel and went back to the stock brown Toyota wheel. Also installed a dash cap.

My new hatch lock assembly came in today. Here's how I was keeping the hatch closed before... Old lock base plate... Lock parts, New and Old... I had to reuse the flat hooked latch. I also reused the two mounting screws and nuts. I wanted the flat key cylinder, but I ordered the wrong part number. After waiting 4 weeks to get this one, I think I can live with the tube key for now. I also recently put in some new seat belts up front. and had some driveshaft work done to fix a vibration issue.
