so a wee bit of work the last couple of days .. and I believe I have finally got the drivers outer rocker done .. so now I can do the inner . cut off the old rotten fender mount .. cut the new/used one off my parts truck (already done a while back) sandblasted .. and then fit . and welded also made a little patch for a weak spot on the rocker and now I can fit the inner .

so now the outer is done on the drivers side .. time for the inner got the upper support welded and started on the lower and seat belt support and finally the inner rocker skin also got all the welds "dressed" and also got a little new piece today ... just need an "extension" on the stock pipe , and I can install the mufler .

wow, that is a ton of work...I admire you. Did you find a new floor section yet or are you using material from that customer's old bed? Forget...
I like the idea you had on Yotatech for making a fiberglass cab...now get to work on that!

thanks guys ... but no fiberglass cab for this one .. .. but it is something I'm going to be doing in the future .. this one is getting a full NEW floor . I was going to use the used box floor for sheet metal .. but at that point I was just going to do patches .. now that I have cut out the whole floor , no more patches required and a whole floor is now due! , so I have purchaced a sheet of 14G 4X8 . today , sunday , I did a bit more .. now that the rockers are done , it's time to start on the back . I cut out the rust on the back and started to work on stripping the cab .. I think I have a new plan , to get rid if the inner lip where the bed meets the cab .. to make a smoother transition to the rear .. had to dig up the pic .

Am I thinking this right: will you be reworking the metal on the cab (I know it needs the rust repair done) for the transition to the bed or reworking the fiberglass lip? If you redo the fiberglass lip on the bed I would take it a little further and try to make the rear seat tray a little wider (currently 36 or 37" inches wide, I know on the passenger side you could not go too wide because of having to deal with the gas filler tube..
maybe I am totally off base since you are also working with the bedside...
A whole new floor is gonna be pretty cool...having an access port to check and fill the transmission oil would be a nice addition IMO..

yep .. I'm going to re-work the whole back .. not sure yet exactly what i'm going to do .. but I want it a little "roomier" in the back seat .. maybe even for the ocasional adult . I know I wont get much more foot room .. but I want a little more elbow room for sure .. rust I cut out and the wee bit of sanding .. down to the metal , and then zinc'd .
