there not rivets , they are nutcerts ... it's is embedding a nut in to the panel making the mirrors "boltable"

Can you use a rivet gun to insert them?

no , I cut that out .. using a spot weld cutter . The drip rail is a "separate" part , spot welded to the body, This is where the rust starts in between the 2 metal pieces . here ya go Kev hope that helps

Can you use a rivet gun to insert them? no .. google nutcerts , or maybe time certs ... they do use a special tool "squash" the certs into place , but I do know of guys whom have just used a bolt and a couple of washers to squish them though , so you dont actually need the tool for doing just a few . this is one of my favorite tools in my arsenal , so I have the actual English "tool" (2 of them actually ) imagine being able to have an imbedded nut anywhere you want .. you can with this tool

That's a very cool tool to have thanks for the pics.
What kind of black paint did you use to paint all the little misc little metal pieces on your truck?

I epoxied the metal pieces first to seal them then the satin

so one side done .. on install , Tony was pulling so hard he ripped the seam , so .. he had to take it back to his shop and sew it back up ... heres what the one side looks like anyway . Did you make those side panels where the seat belt bolts up to? Soo I found those plastic trim pieces for my truck BUT I dont know how to fit them in with the square metal frame installed in the trekkers for the reinforcement of the back cab being cut out? From your pics they look flush against the wall but I just dont see how with that metal reinforcement in there, im stumpped!

I deleted that frame .... it would protect nothing in a roll over anyway . if your worried about rolling , you can build an inner cage for that

So you can remove it with no problems at all and no extra reinforcement? I did not know that
