it actually was, same one that his son restored for him...in a recent auction it was down to $17K but no bidders...I think they paid around $22K for it...Paul would know the exact info...
there are a few things wrong with it like the shift boot (w-56) and I think the license plate light is incorrect

yes ... this is jack safro 's trekker ... if you have a "peek" around .. there are a few threads on this already , from the FIRST auction , to now this one .. it's a super nice piece .. but not quite correct or restored back to "original spec" there a quite a few not correct pieces on this unit . BUT WOW .. what a NICE unit .. and hopefully this will help our cause !!!!! I hope it sells for $35,000.00 .

Hey Folks, I have the Jack Saffro's 1981 Toyota Trekker purchased from Mecum.com. Jack passed and this is his truck. The vehicle is in excellent condition with a fully rebuilt motore and interior to boot. Runs great for her age and needs someone who is looking for this type of truck to make the collection complete or to simply to admire this Pre Runner design and all that it can afford. I am going through a divorce and need to liquidate my girl before things go forward. No funny business as I am a reputable person with references if needed. I have a full set of pics to provide upon request, what you see is what you get and yes, I am taking a severe loss on the one.

I know .. it just makes me sick though .. everytime i buy a external `hard drive` it never seems compatable with the new opperating system .. this has now happend to me twice !!! microsoft just seems to keep gouging me !!! windows 7 sucks the big one as far as i`m concerned ... I should have `burnt`it all to discs .. seems to be my best bet .. anyway .. i`m gonna figure something out this time forsure , as i have to rebuild all my websites , and try to replace all of my lost pics ..
end of my rant .. and back to topic

I picked up a pack of 3 jump drives from Costco cheap, 2 for pics and 1 for important documents...works great, compact and fits in the safe easy..
and if I had $15K I would probably pick up this Trekker....
Paul-wish I had time to head up to look at that thing with you...
