Okay made some more progress, the rear is in. Finaly got a chance to see final ride height, and its perfect!! These are stock chevies, no added springs, just 3 springs and no overload. 2" Aluminum rear block and she sits level! Shackle Angles are Perfect IMO Front: Rear If your doing Chevies, and you dont want a scissor shackle, then I recomend the Sky kit, it is the only one (Andy) found that had all the holes drilled for the smaller 9/16 Chevy bolts, and It came with those bolts too. I drilled the tops out to fit a 18mm greasable shackle bolt and used a johnny joint at the frame. Here is the rear diff pattern. I threw a lunch box locker in too! ;D

Well I'm not gonna make any progress on the Trekker this weekend, but I did take a few hours this morning to take this off the trailer. My Cousin in law Mike in an amazing act of generosity gave Tyler and I this 83 truck! Its got alot of the parts we needed, like Doors, working regulators, weatherstriping, A perfect black dash, a Cluster w/ Tach, Clean Grey headliner, Door Panels, Shift Boot, and more. It even has a few parts we didnt need but are stoked to come by, Thorley Header, LC Cam! Sidedraft Weber is probably overkill for a wheeler, it drips fuel its so big! MSD Wires, and all the spare electronic goodies we could possibley need. I got it running on the trailer and its terminal! We hoped it was a runner but massive engine noise (broken rod?) I'm gonna strip what I need, then post it as parting out. Here are some more pics: If you know anyone that needs a 1st gen cab/bed hit me up.

If I ever win the lottery, I'm gonna buy a fiberglass bed from Corey. ;D

Why dont you use the cab to fix the floor boards in the Trekker? I dont know if you hav einvestigated how big of an issue is there, but you could put in a good floor out of the 2WD and scrap the rest of the cab. Just a thought before you sell it. Thats a thought Paul, I had planned to just stop the cancer and lay some patches, as this is far from a resto. But youre right, where better to get the patches? Thanks, I'll have to weight that against any offers I get on the cab. It has Zero rust.

Yea, I'm a fan of the Mikuni I had them on my 510, but they are no good for off camber stuff, + they sit to low as side drafts, I'd be affraid of some of our deep water crossings. I'll just sell it, keep the header and cam though ;D

that thing is looking pretty dang sweet. you have to take a month or so to get it to where mine took me 2.5 years ;D as far as the transmission I remember paul showing me that extension. I think he said it was a W56. I remember seeing this one off Bud Built dual case crossmember that allowed the owner to use either an L series or W56 in a 1st gen truck. the custom crossmember (I betcha bud still has this on his computer ;D) my 'stock' budbuilt dual case crossmember: let me know how that trunion bearing eliminator kit goes...that is a future upgrade that I want to do...

Okay, update time. I bought some parts. Trail Gear Adapter, Inchworm 4.7's, Trailgear Crossmember. The Bud built would have been th eright one, if it wasnt double he cost of the TG one, I will go ahead and "move" the mounting points. We took out the tranny and transfercase. Well actually I made Tyler do most of it, we had it out in 25min. ;D I love standing under trucks while we work with air tools and 4ft 3/8 extensions ;D I havent tackeled the building of the duals yet, I have to get my boat ready for a club run this weekend, so no time. We did also finish my ft end, 30splines-6Shooters-Trunion Elimintaion ;D, Im happy but I think if your running tires smaller then 40's the trunion eliminator kit is probably a little overkill. Its gonna need to be greased often, and it drives different- better mod for a fully trail truck. Here are some pics: Parts is Parts: Funky Crossmember Extension: Tranny/Trans Can you identify? Forward Shift, will need to swap housings Master Tech in Training Six Shooters on My Truck ;D Pretty new (not bent) housing w/ all the trusses.
