I'm building a new rear hatch for my trekker .. (you will be able to see it in my build)
It will replace the whole rear stock hatch and window . It will be much more secure and weather proof then the original , but , still have the old style "flavor" fold down tailgate .. (fender height) so if you were to remove the roof , you wouldnt have that gap at the rear ..
i'm starting to make this a "destroyable" mould (1 off) it's much less expencive to do this then to make PRODUCTION moulds .. but I dont want to make production moulds because of the expence involved ... unless I can justify interest in the product .. I will just be making a 1 off
so any interest ?

here's my plan
hope to have it fit in the stock location with NO additional fiberglass work .
I'm hoping to use the 79-83 pickup tailgate guts and strikers . handle in the center and will drop down just like the pick up gate . the gate will have a weatherstrip and lock ketch and the glass will then close against the tailgate and lock . The glass also requires a new frame , so the shocks will work and not just flex the glass . New weatherstrip around will be required all around as well as new rear window , lighter shocks and tailgate hardware ..
as a GUESS .. pricing .. I hope to bring it in at about the $700.00 mark .

Interested definitely--whether or not I can afford one..time will tell.
are you going to be lowering the 3-4" lip along the back side of the bed or will that remain the same?

it will remain the same .
if all goes well as well i can bring it in cheeper and NOT supply the 4wd tailgate hardware .. you guys could get your own .. and if i can supply information for the glass hardware .. again , you could supply your own ..
so basically I could supply the t/gate , window and shocks .. and w/strip ..
this way I might be able to bring it in @ ~ 500 bones .... we'll see though ..
so far I'm running into a bit of an issue with the strikers and ketches
