Started tearing the drip rail off, lots of rust. Started cleaning up the sun roof area also. Corey when you put the sunroof seal back in did you put silicone back in where the bottom of the seal sits? View AttachmentView AttachmentView Attachmentall looking great Kev .. shavin the drip rails was one of the BEST things I did to my Trekker .. I know it will last much longer ..... as you see with yours , Imagine just painting over top of that ? .. no silicone .. with it all being cleaned up , it didn't need any

Well I started to weld up where I cut the drip rails off, went inside for a bit to come out to my truck on fire. Have blankets and sheets everywhere to keep dust and grinding off my other truck and stuff and 1 spark must have hit. Melted my flashlight, burnt the blanket and melted it to my nice new floor and rocker panel on the cab, and melted the trigger off of my welder, burnt my hand a little bit, but my garage didn't burn down so I guess that's good.

If I was ever going to do this again I would strip the cab and sandblast the entire thing for sure, the only way to go.

Well the body work is now just "about" done, all the little imperfections here and there to do but the majority is done! Started to measure to cut down the roll bar to old roll bar size to make it fit with the canopy on. Yes im stealing your idea Slacker! lol i went to my pick n pull and they had the roll bar and didnt know what to charge so they sold it to me for 20 bucks so i couldn't resist, as pick n pull has become so expensive now over the years. i think the build will go a lot faster now after the body work, cause i just hate doing it and always procrastinated doing it.

So i thought i was done body work on driver side beside little imperfections, i notice a couple little holes that would need to filled in, i scraped it with my finger nail and a chunk of paint pop off, i was just sanding down the old paint to paint over it. Well that little chunk kept getting bigger and bigger so i took a scraper and the paint literary with no effort just came right off almost the entire driver side. When it was painted by the previous owned, this side must have not got painted to well, so spent 4 hours and got it all done. just have to sand down the flare and some other small parts. Kind of glad i found this out now and not later. There was alot of bubbles on that side of the truck in the paint.

nice bud .. are you going to "show" this truck ? Yup from at least 10 feet away miniumum, lol, I dont think everything will be perfect on this as this was my first shot at body work, will be my first shot at doing any interior, and like ive said before the economy is killing my job and still very scared I might not have a job in the near future. Calgary is so bad right now, our down town is becoming empty, people are jumping out of there buildings down town to their death, its dam freaking scarey here I tell ya!!!!! So money for this project is super tight will probably be painting this in my garage. BUT I am going to do the best job I can on it, I cant wait to drive it hopefully this spring..summer!
