Got new to me seat for the back, needs a really good cleaning but fits really good. View Attachmentnice !! Slacker is there ay way to just fill in the previous holes for the carriage bolts, mine are really sloppy and don't want to take the back shell off the bed. Is it possible to shred of fiberglass and make like a paste with the resin to fill these in, would that even work? View Attachmentwell there is a way , but normally I wouldn't recommend it because it'll probably crack around the original hole because of the bed sides and tub not being "connected" but , what I would do in this situation , is counter snk the edges of the hole with a countersink bit .. both top and bottom . then put a piece of masking tape over the bottom , and squirt some panel bonder 3M 08115 in to the hole .. should work like a rivet basically . I should have mentioned that I will need to use these holes again for the carriage bolts but just wanting them to be tighter so the bolt wont move around.

One more thing I am going to put some more layers of fiberglass in the back where the seat goes as mine was so weak you could fall right through it. I have some fiberglass cloth left over to do maybe a 1 layer of that also, would it be good to do a layer of that and some mat? If so which order should I lay them down in? Thanks

I like to use a layer of mat first .. I will "lay down" and conform to the curves better , the cloth over top . I always like to lay another layer of mat on top of that as well , as it make for a "smoother" finish .. but go with what ya got ..
lookin' good brutha !!

Thanks so the layer thats there now, ill add a layer of mat then layer of cloth then top off with another layer of mat and presume that should be strong enough for where you stand and sit in the back as its really bad at the moment.

no .. it would be permanent , why not just use the carriage bolts ? I am going to use the carriage bolts, but the holes where the carriage bolts go through have got big and sloppy so the carriage bolt can slop around, I just want to tighten up the hole so its a snug fit for the carriage bolts to go back into and not move around.

I would then suggest glassing over the holes , and then re-drilling them

I would then suggest glassing over the holes , and then re-drilling them Well got the sides re-glassed with a couple layers to fill in all the holes, got a lot of the inside tub fiberglassed also, the tub is just about done and ready for roll bar seat and interior now. You weren't kidding when you said the resin doesn't go far......ive used a lot so far.

Well still doing body work, don't think it will ever end, but I am getting there. I cleaned up inside cab rust and gave it a coat of primer and paint, it will all be covered with the interior but thought I mind as well protect all the metal in there.

Well the hole for my exhaust was completely deteriated from the heat of my exhaust and was crumbling apart, and since I have the v8 in my truck with dual exhaust, I decided to get rid of it and fiberglass in the whole spot, still need to clean it up but here it is. In the picture it looks like its not level with the rest of the body and is sunk in a bit, but its nice level with the rest of the rear quarter bottom.

are you going to replicate the openings in the rear for the dual exhaust ?

At this point I have no idea on what to do with it, im going to have to see how I can run the exhaust, right now its just to the mufflers that hang just past the tcase.
