New to the site, but not new to Toyota's. I bought my first 4x4 truck in 1984 and have driven nothing else for the last 25 years, the last being a gen II 4runner. I have been looking for a trekker for a couple of years and could not resist Jack Safro's when it came back on the market. I have seen a lot of knowledge in the postings and would greatly appreciate advice/comment you have to offer...

WOW, How do I answer that loaded question? I will say that I am still a little shocked that I was able to purchase this vehicle for that price, so I have not really looked forward too much. I will say, and I do not want to offend anyone, but I do plan to drive the truck, as is, as a part time driver for the next couple of months. With little exception, I have always felt that rare/collectable vehicles should be enjoyed in use and not just looked at. Long term, I would like to do a “frame off” restoration and redo the engine and drive train to remove any doubt as to the “standing” of the restoration. But, I will be honest and tell ya’ll, that is a ways off…I still have not figured out how to tell my wife that I bought this…that is where you guys could be of help...suggestions!

Was told 8:00am today...then after lunch...then around 5:00pm EST...in truth when I asked the driver "where he was", he told me Asheville, NC. Seemed like news to him when I said Asheville was 5 hours from my house...WTF

Nice to have another Trekker on the East Coast, not too many out here. I live in the Hampton Roads area and spend a lot of time on the Outer Banks of NC. We should get together for some beach wheeling you live close enough. Get some pictures up ASAP!!!!!!!!!
